My Web Archives
I’ve been playing around with web design for almost 15 years now, and although my techniques aren’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination I do think that I’ve come a long way. On this page are all the sites I’ve created over the years in their different incarnations. They are very simple, basic sites but all part of the learning curve.

Okay so a little background on these sites. My very first site was “Confessions of a Neurotic - Thoughts from Inner Hell”. I was using AOL exclusively at the time and they offered a little web space and some site building tools and not having the first clue how to go about creating a website, I ran with it. Got a couple entries in and then forgot my login information, so I created my second site, “Confession Part 2 - The Saga Continues”. As you can see the first site is very basic, and as I began adding graphics to the second site I realized how fun and interesting website creation was. That led to the third site, “My Universe”, because I wanted something I could show off to people and obviously the first two I couldn’t. The third site, I’m proud to say, wasn’t created with the help of any site building programs, I did it all by hand. And although I now see how clunky and bloated it really is, at the time it was cutting edge…for me anyway. Then before I resumed making my own sites I signed up for a Dead Journal. I made a few entries here and there before I started my own forum, Misanthropic Realm (now closed). I haven’t been back to this journal since then and only just recently remembered that it even existed.

Now the “Internal Derangement Breeds Psychotic Depression” site I started because I wanted to get into more complex coding and design and I also wanted a site that was more of a reflection of the real me as first seen in the “Confessions” sites. Not the ‘everything is okay in my world’ site that the family saw (I fake it so real I am beyond fake…). So this site is more me. A part of me at least, that I’ve kept hidden from everyone. The real complete and honest me is in the off limits section of my forum, Misanthropic Realm, and since the forum closed now here on this site.

This trend started because I loved the Foo Fighters and had many bootleg shows that I thought I would share with like-minded fans. It was actually such a big success that I expanded it to include a select few other bands that I am particularly fond of. Eventually as the shows offered grew, so did the bandwidth demands and I had to shut the site down. That was really a sad day for me. Anyway the two separate versions of the “Audio/Video Download Shop” are different, although at first glance they don’t seem to be. The first version had tracklistings for all the shows and the second version just had show listings because there were just too many.

A couple years ago I decided to combine all those little sites I had into one that’s now known as Muted Lunacy. And although the current incarnation isn’t a site I built from scratch, I do think it’s progression has a place here. The base these days is Wordpress and the themes were created by others and adapted by me. So featured here are the different looks this site has gone through since it’s conversion to Wordpress.
